d2d: Bad Alum?

Am I an awful Alumnus for hoping like a hell that CMU doesn't get enough attendance at tomorrow's football game, causing a loss of NCAA Division I status?

I've never been compassionate toward athletic programs, but watching the crap that CMU has pulled over the years, adding seating to the stadium to avoid status change (and sneaking in an extra million dollars or so to build an Athlete's only private workout center/palace complete with computer lab and classrooms), trying to sneak through a student fee that would be assessed only to new students (so it wouldn't have to be reported in CMU's total tuition cost), has sent me over the edge. Maybe if we're reduced to Division I-A, it will be harder to justify this bullshit.

No!
Not at all. I'm the bad alumna. I sent a nasty letter to the Alumni Office when they sent me the standard money request form and mentioned "Chips". I wrote back a stop-emailing-me email to the athletic department when they sent me a request to support the "Mighty Chippewas". I even wrote back to the ever so polite letter they wrote me detailing the "proud history" of the nickname to point out their inaccuracies.

I doubt Betty would be proud.

Don't feel so bad. I hope that worse things happen to the athletic dept.

Re: No!
I almost added a bit about admissions, how I've given tours to over a thousand people, lying about the IAC the entire time. I can love Central and still have problems with it, which is something that Admissions was never big on.

It's raining now, let's hope it continues into tomorrow! We'll see what shit they'll pull for nov 20 game.
