d2d: The new gold standard

Target has had diet Mountain Dew (mana of the gods, at least those gods who need help staying awake), on sale for a few weeks, and I've bought some each time I've been in.

I now have enough DMD to use as currency in the event the dollar crashes.

I have some at work, and some back-up DMD at work (for when I "run out"). I have four twelve packs at home, just waiting for their promotion to the big leagues (the refrigerator).

I've never had this much pop on hand in my life. I may need to buy a mini-van and become a soccer mom, since my purchasing habits are becoming more like that crew everyday. Then again, don't soccer moms drive SUVs now?

I didn't know so many other shared my addiction.

I have routine to save money, I buy 2 liters at speedway when they are 89cents and stock up. I then get a refill ($.58) at Next Door and get a card signed cause after 10 signed you get one free. I then fill my cup with DMD all day long.

yup, so. SUV!

HA, that's hilarious! i do the same thing w/ diet coke and diet dr pepper (or dc and ddp as i call them). i think it's funny and soothing that somebody else does this. ...although i must admit that i absolutely HATE diet mountain dew. it's the only soda that i prefer in "regular," but i'm not even a big fan of that...or even a fan at all.

i've been meaning to ask you for a LONG time now..."d2d" ...is that "day to day"?

yes. If I ever get around to redoing my userinfo page, I'm going to list a key to my posts. d2d posts (day to day) are daily ramblings lacking depth. omt posts (one man's thoughts) are similar, but deeper (in theory as my journal has been anything but deep lately). There are flaws (like the whole bermuda triangle I've developed between Work, Counseling and Career that even I can't figure out), but hopefully I should get the kinks worked out eventually.

Yeah, that was really long when YES would have sufficed.

mini vans, SUVs
I tried being a soccer mom once. It lasted about 3 days, until my son, then 7, tried soccer practice indoors, and managed to chip a bone in his ankle kicking the ball in the hallway, on the carpet-he planted his foot wrong and that was that..

When mini-vans first came out, they were classified as SUVs. I have one-it's a 16 year old Dodge Caravan SE with a turbo engine. The engine is worth five times the bluebook value of the van.

Fairie G, who loved your comment about using DMD as currency. I need to look through my sci-fi shelves to find the name of a book to recommend...

Re: mini vans, SUVs PS
My son is 23 now and works as a part time bartender at one gay bar and a stripper at another. He IDs as bisexual and seems to prefer dating girls, but has a lot of fun with the guys, too.

I'm just glad he's happy.
