SHHHH, don't tell them, but I've got my average down to $1.19 a movie on Netflix. I guess I won't be irritated that they decided not to ship my movies today.
I'm glad you liked it. Did I completely screw up your last name?
I love Netflix. You remember living in Mt P; it's hard finding different movies at the video store. With Netflix, I get a good mix. I got the Notebook right away, and I'm getting the Motorcycle Diaries today (came out yesterday). I'm on a wait list for Vanity Fair, but it all works out. For some reason, there was no waiting list for Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter :-) One of the best features is all the TV series they have to rent, as Mt P video stores only have things like Sopranos and SATC.
Cost is turning out to be very cheap. Like I said in the post, my current average is $1.19 a movie, and it's not like I'm getting that by forcing myself to watch a movie the same day it comes and get it back to the post office ASAP. I've kept some discs for a whole week before watching them and getting them back. When I send a movie back, I have another movie in 3-4 business days (it's been 4 more often than 3 lately).
You get your first two weeks free, then it's $17.99 a month after that. With tax, $19.07 gets charged to my CC every month. I figure if I watch nine movies a month, I'm getting a better deal than a local video store, and I watch that easily. Since October, I've had 51 movies.
I'd try both Netflix and Blockbuster's at home service for the free two week period. I found Blockbuster to be really slow at getting movies out to me, but it is only 14.99 for the next year (plus you get two free in-store rentals a month). Try 'em both, decide if you like it. Send me an invite for your friends list if you try out Netflix, it's fun.
I'm a big fan of my netflix!!! I can sometimes get them back in the mail the same day... but it's not always possible... with the dvd burner and all;)
Another benefit of netflix--- you can get tv show series that most video rental stores don't carry--- Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, West Wing, CSI, Sopranos, Carnivale, Stargate, Simpsons, and a few others have graced my mailbox...
