The opposite of anger

Having a hard time putting into words how moved I am by some of the posts today. Living in the middle of nowhere, I've always seen World AIDS Day as a day of activism, and don't remember ever being exposed to such personal and beautiful pictures of people lost to this disease.

Thank you for showing me another side to today.

As I sit in my office, listening to a playlist that's a mix of songs designed to be contemplative and inspirational (thank you to some wonderful LJer for the Anthony Callea song s/he posted a while back; it's perfect for today), I'm trying to be something other than angry. Anger doesn't generate progress, it just makes me feel better. I need to subjugate my needs to the greater need to create change.

My heart to everyone today. Know that you are beautiful.

I felt the same way today as I scrolled through my Friends pages and felt tears pouring down my cheeks. For whatever reason, AIDS never directly touched me or my friends, until today.

it just came around again, so I remember his name (I couldn't remember when I posted). That Anthony Callea song, Per Sempre. It's kind of criminal that a voice that awesome comes out of someone that cute! Just checked out his website.
