meds, meds, meds

Had my followup with my pcp this morning. After six weeks of tricor, my triglycerides went down 23 points.

Yup, just 23 points. Only 77 more points to go.

We talked about my sleep and inattention issues, decided to make no changes to the Requip or the Wellbutrin, but upped the Tricor to the Big Dosetm, and he finally agreed to give me some Ambien. Getting a sleep aid out of this man is like pulling teeth, but he agreed to a ten-day trial.

I feel like an old man, taking four prescription meds. I have to keep telling myself that it's only for now, as the plan is that once my sleep stabilizes, the wellbutrin shouldn't be necessary, as I expect adequate sleep to resolve the inattention issues. Also, once I'm sleeping better, I should have the energy to exercise more, which should resolve the apnea and triglyceride issues. Once I pull all that off, I will just be left with my restless leg med, which would be cool. I may even be able to come off that, as many people control their symptoms with yoga or other stretching exercises.

Better living through chemistry, I guess.

Ambien linked to midnight food foraging: "The next morning, the night eaters remember nothing about their foraging. But they wake up to find telltale clues: mouthfuls of peanut butter, Tostitos in their beds, kitchen counters overflowing with flour, missing food, and even lighted ovens and stoves. Some are so embarrassed, they delay telling anyone, even as they gain weight."

eek! I'll have to pay attention. I know a girl who had a friend who got an OUI Ambien, so I had heard about the sleep driving thing. I've never been a sleepwalker, though, so I hope I'm safe.

Do we know who made that icon?

No, I don't even remember who I stole it from, some uber conservative gay guy. Any reason?

A person on my flist said: Hey, look how awesome this icon is, and linked to the gif, but nobody knows who made it. I was curious if you did so I could help those people give credit where due. We don't even know if the make wanted it shared, so I was just curious. Use on, bro -- I think it's awesome. Though I would change it so the first frame isn't the abomination, since gifs don't always activate, if the person didn't see the next ten frames, it could be misunderstood. All gifs loop, so you put the best frame first and then the rest, people who don't see animation get to see the best frame, and those who see the intended animated version never know how the frames are aligned since their mind assumes the first line of the joke is the first frame of the animation sequence.

I take 4 perscription meds, plus vitamins. I even have the "old fogey" pill divider so I don't forget to take them.

I'm lamer than you. HA!

Oh, I have the pill box, too, but I don't put my vitamins in it. I take a multi (2 pills), 2 omega 3s, & 2 biotin (growing my hair out for locks of love) in addition to the meds. Plus I take another 2 omega 3s at lunch along with a tablespoon of benefiber.

Bring on the fogey war, grandma!!! me, my pills, and my walker will kick your wrinkled tush!!!
