spell macchiato

Went to see Akeelah and the Bee last night before karaoke.  It was cute, predictable in spots, but cute.  There's a quote in the moivie attributed to Nelson Mandela, but it's actually Marianne Williamson.  I want to sit with this quote every day, at least for the next week or so.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Let's all shine!

Speaking of shining, karaoke in Clare kicked butt!  I haven't had that much fun singing in a long time.

Thank you
Friday afternoon I was sitting with the partner of an artist friend, trying to come up with that quote... thanks for sharing it here! I'll give it to him next week when I see them again.
