crisis of the conscience

or should I say crisis center conscience?

Let's have an almost but not quite hypothetical situation. Let's just say a Mental Health Technician has 28 hours in a week, and then a volunteer asks him to take four more hours. and he says yes. But now he's concerned that he may be acting like a certain childish co-worker of his who sucks up hours like a kirby vacuum sucks up dirt.

at least it didn't put me into overtime.

Exactly!
Hey babes, you takes all the damn hours you want. If people are concerned, let them fight it out. But the hours were offered to you and you said yes, as if to do the volunteer a favor. In a very health professional way, tell them to: "Fuck off."

:-) I love you sweetie!

You only have 32.....and the sucker won't be in till the end of the week. Just do like him - write on the line that you have 24 hours - he won't suspect that you are pulling his foul deed. And, anyhow, do we really care if the sucker hates us?
Love,
R.
