Nay
I think Indian is just wrong. I get confused! Whenever someone uses Indian, I ask, "Indian Indian or Native American?" It's all based on those bastard colonists' ignorance anyway. They thought they were in India! Whenever I hear someone using it, I think, Don't you get the joke??? Even better, Native Americans still use it! Isabella Indian Reservation is where we live. Sad sad. I guess I consider it something like n*gger -- it was started as a word to catagorize and ultimately opress, then the situation changed and word just stuck around. I think we need to get rid of them both. People from India = Indian. Indigenous peoples in the Americas = Native American or Indigenous or their *Ack* actual tribe.

I saw your journal on the friends page of one of my friends - that's why you don't know me. Anyhow, did this really happen? To answer your question, it's not ok. It's sad actually. I think a lot of people have a lot to learn about other cultures.
